Is Pact Coffee worth it? For most people who drink coffee at home every day, yes. A Pact subscription gets you freshly roasted speciality beans for less than most supermarket premium coffee, and you can pause or cancel whenever you like.

The short answer: Pact is worth it if you want fresh speciality coffee delivered on a schedule, at about 60p to 70p per cup. Plans start at £8.95 for 250g, and subscribers save 20% on every bag. It is less worth it if you only drink a cup or two a week, because a one-off bag costs more.
How we researched this: we have not yet subscribed to Pact ourselves. This guide is based on Pact’s own pages, prices and product details, all checked on 25 September 2026. However, we quote Pact’s tasting notes rather than claim our own.
What is Pact Coffee?

Pact is a UK coffee roaster that sells mainly by subscription. You pick how you brew, choose a plan, and Pact roasts and posts your coffee on a schedule you set. It is also a certified B Corp.
According to Pact, its menu changes with the harvests and covers coffees from up to ten countries. As you rate what you try, Pact says it learns your taste and adjusts what it sends.
How much does Pact cost?
There are three plan levels. Also, each has a quality score, which is the grading used for speciality coffee. Here are the subscription prices Pact lists.
| Plan | Quality score | 250g | 500g | 1kg |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| House | 82 to 84 | £8.95 | £14.95 | £28.64 |
| Select | 84 to 86 | £9.95 | £17.95 | £31.84 |
| Micro-lot | 86+ | £12.95 | £22.95 | £41.44 |
| Pods (56) | 84 to 86 | £24.95 for 56 pods |
For comparison, a one-off 250g bag of a Select coffee costs £12.44. So the subscription price is 20% lower, which matches Pact’s own claim.
Cost per cup: is Pact Coffee worth it compared with cafés?
A typical home cup uses 15 to 18g of coffee. That means a 250g Select bag makes roughly 14 to 16 cups, at about 60p to 70p each. A 1kg House plan brings that down to around 50p a cup.
By contrast, a flat white on the high street often costs £3.50 or more. Even the micro-lot plan is far cheaper than buying coffee out every day. On price alone, Pact Coffee is worth it for anyone who currently buys a daily café coffee.
Is Pact Coffee good quality?
Pact grades every coffee on the speciality scale, and even the House plan scores 82 to 84. Anything above 80 counts as speciality grade. Pact also says it roasts days before delivery, so beans arrive fresh.
Take its best-selling Bourbon Cream blend, for example. Pact describes it as a dark roast with notes of Bourbon cream biscuits and a creamy mouthfeel, made from Brazilian and Colombian beans.

Is Pact Coffee ethical?
Pact is a certified B Corp, and it says it always pays farmers more than the Fairtrade base price. On its House plan page, Pact states that it pays farmers 25% above Fairtrade rates on average. It also publishes a transparency report and a sourcing policy.
However, Pact coffee is not sold as Fairtrade certified. It buys directly from growers. If certification matters to you, check each coffee’s page before you order. For most buyers who care about fair pay, though, Pact Coffee is worth it on ethics as well as flavour.
