A coffee subscription is the easiest way to drink better coffee at home. First, the beans arrive fresh, you never run out, and most roasters charge less per bag than their one-off price. The hard part is choosing, because every UK roaster now offers one.

The short answer: Origin Coffee is the best all-round coffee subscription in the UK, with the widest choice of plans and easy pause and skip. If you mainly want one great everyday coffee at a lower price, the 200 Degrees Brazilian Love Affair subscription is the best value.

How we compared them: we have used two Origin subscriptions ourselves, Resolute beans and Três Meninas capsules, and both arrived as described. Brazilian Love Affair from 200 Degrees is the coffee we drink most at home. However, the other details below, including prices and how pausing works, come from each roaster’s own website in September 2026. Prices are per 250g bag unless stated.

1. Origin Coffee: best UK coffee subscription overall

First, Origin is a B Corp roaster in Cornwall, and its subscriptions cover almost every way of drinking coffee. For example, the Feature subscription sends a different coffee each time. You work through countries, processes and flavours without having to choose. The Rotating Espresso and Filter subscriptions stick to one brew style, and there are also Decaf, Cold Brew concentrate and Nespresso-compatible capsule plans.

Delivery is free on subscriptions, every bag can be ground for espresso, AeroPress or filter, and the Origin app lets you pause, skip or cancel. Subscribers also earn reward points on each order. We have received Resolute beans and Três Meninas capsules this way and both were as described.

  • Price: £12.50 to £14.75 per 250g depending on plan
  • Delivery: free, tracked, letterbox-sized
  • Good to know: the Feature coffees change regularly, so you may not see the same one twice

2. 200 Degrees Brazilian Love Affair: best value subscription

200 Degrees is a Nottingham roaster, and Brazilian Love Affair is the espresso blend served in its coffee shops. Also, it is medium roasted with plenty of body, a good crema and a bold finish, and it is our everyday coffee at home. On subscription it drops to £9.95 per 250g, or £31.95 per kilo, which is among the lowest prices we have seen for speciality coffee. It can be ground for cafetière, filter, AeroPress or espresso.

If you prefer variety, the Discovery subscription rotates through 200 Degrees’ seasonal single origins at £11.45 per bag. The Mellowship Slinky Decaf subscription (£10.50) is a sugarcane-process Brazilian decaf.

3. Pact: best if you want someone else to choose

Finally, Pact is another B Corp roaster and one of the best-known subscriptions in the UK. According to its website, subscribers save 20% on every order, can reschedule, skip, pause or cancel online, and can have a coffee replaced free if it is not to their taste. Pact can also pick coffees for you. We have not used Pact ourselves, so this is based on its published terms. Plans start at £8.95 for 250g, and new subscribers currently get 25% off their first two orders. For more detail, see our guide: is Pact Coffee worth it?

What a subscription costs per cup

Per-bag prices hide how cheap good coffee at home really is. For example, assuming an 18g double espresso or a 15g mug of filter, here is roughly what each plan works out at.

PlanPricePer 18g espressoPer 15g filter mug
Origin Rotating Espresso, 250g£12.50about 90pabout 75p
Origin Rotating Espresso, 1kg£36.50about 66pabout 55p
Origin Feature, 250g£12.95about 93pabout 78p

Pact House, 250g£8.95about 64pabout 54p

Even the most expensive option here is a fraction of a £3.50 to £4 café flat white. Overall, the 1kg bags are the best value if you get through coffee quickly and can store it well.

How to choose a coffee subscription

  • Match the grind to your brewer. Choose whole bean if you own a grinder. If not, pick the grind for your method when you sign up. Likewise, our grind size chart explains the differences.
  • Pick variety or consistency. Rotating plans like Origin Feature are fun if you like trying new coffees. On the other hand, a single-coffee plan like Brazilian Love Affair is better if you have found one you love.
  • Work out how much you drink. Two cups a day uses roughly 250g every 10 to 12 days. So a fortnightly delivery suits most people.
  • Check the pause and cancel terms. All three here let you change or stop your plan without a fee.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best coffee subscription in the UK?

Origin Coffee is our pick for most people because of the range of plans and flexible management. However, for the lowest price on a single great coffee, choose 200 Degrees Brazilian Love Affair.

Are coffee subscriptions worth it?

Yes, if you drink coffee daily. After all, you get fresher beans than a supermarket shelf, the per-bag price is usually lower than one-off orders, and delivery is typically free.

Can I give a coffee subscription as a gift?

Yes. For example, Origin sells prepaid subscriptions from £30 for three months, and 200 Degrees sells subscription gift vouchers. We cover these in detail in our coffee gifts guide.

Can I get a decaf coffee subscription?

Yes. Origin Decaf (£14.75) and 200 Degrees Mellowship Slinky Decaf (£10.50) both use the sugarcane process.

The bottom line

For the best coffee subscription in the UK overall, choose Origin if you want the best range and the most control, starting with the Feature plan if you like variety. Alternatively, choose 200 Degrees Brazilian Love Affair if you want one reliable, great-value coffee on repeat. For machines to brew it in, see our best espresso machines and how to brew coffee guides.
